BREST, 30 July (BelTA) - Belarus needs to more actively explore the market for LED lamps, for which there are both the personnel and the competencies, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the development prospects of Horizont Holding Company, including Brest Electric Lamp Plant in Brest on 30 July, BelTA has learned.
Before the meeting, the head of state got familiar with the operations of this plant in Brest and assessed the situation. According to specialists, the enterprise is in a difficult situation. Modernization has only just begun.
“Without lighting, without a light bulb, you can’t get anywhere. Therefore, this enterprise must develop. Because this product, like bread, is essential,” the head of state emphasized.
The president set the focus on manufacturing precisely such modern products. Especially since the market for such lamps is huge, but competition is also high. The demand in the Union State alone is estimated at approximately 350 million LED lamps of various models and purposes annually. “Can we compete? Yes, we can. We have the personnel and the competencies,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
