The Education Department of the Brest District Executive Committee (hereinafter - the department) is an independent structural subdivision of the Brest District Executive Committee (hereinafter - the District Executive Committee), which implements state policy in the field of education, childhood protection, youth policy, taking into account the features and prospects of socio-economic development district. The department manages the activities of institutions and organizations that are part of the education system of the district. In its activities, the department is subordinated to the district executive committee, in matters of industry activity to the main education department of the Brest regional executive committee, to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
The education system of the Brest district provides social needs for the development of a person in the aspects of his education, upbringing, and the identification of physical and mental properties. And this is reflected in the performance of the entire system.
Stable functioning and effective development of the education system is ensured in the Brest district.
The educational network of the Brest district in the 2018/2019 school year is presented as follows: 22 institutions of general secondary education, including 17 secondary schools, 2 basic schools, 1 primary school, 22 educational and pedagogical complexes, 17 preschool education institutions, the district socio-pedagogical center, district center of tourism and local history, district center of creativity of children and youth, district center of corrective and developmental training and rehabilitation, district center of information technologies and modern teaching aids.
