statistics, research

who is the project intended for, whose interests does it defend?

According to statistics, over 1,500 people with disabilities live in the Brest region. It is difficult to calculate how many of them are involved in the process of creative rehabilitation. It is worth noting that theatrical activities help people with disabilities   adapt to the world around them and solve many pressing problems related to moral education, as well as the development of communicative skills. Theater is one of the most democratic and accessible forms of art for them; it develops the creative potential of the individual, teaches effective communication, which arises in the process of creating a single, common product - a performance.

The day care department for disabled people of the State Institution “Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population of the Brest District” is visited by 31 people.

The department implements measures for the social rehabilitation of people with disabilities through the organization of circle work. People with disabilities who attend the department take an active part in district and regional creativity festivals. From the very foundation of the department, the theater group “Prologue” has been operating, which is very popular among people with disabilities. Participants in the theater group develop communication skills, improve speech, get rid of emotional and physical blocks, develop memory and imagination.

Inclusive theater is a relatively new direction. However, the effectiveness of its use  in the social rehabilitation of people with disabilities has already been noted. Theater should be inclusive, which means that it is accessible to everyone, and everyone can realize their abilities, despite their health conditions.

The project is aimed at people with disabilities, their social rehabilitation and integration.
